In 2007, Dr. Dennis Ross founded the Kansas Nephrology Institute (KNRI), a research center associated with a large nephrology practice that manages patients at multiple dialysis centers and clinics throughout the state of Kansas. While most KNRI research focuses on chronic kidney disease and related disorders, the group wishes to study other disease states, as well as interventions for end stage renal disease.

Dr. Ross is a clinical professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed residency training at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., and a nephrology fellowship at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis.

In 2018, Dr. Ross received the University of Nebraska Medical Center Distinguished Alumni Award.
